Practice nurses
Practice nurses are qualified and registered nurses. They can help with health issues such as family planning, healthy living advice, blood pressure checks and dressings. The practice nurses run clinics for long-term health conditions such as asthma or diabetes, minor ailment clinics and carry out cervical smears. Some nurses can also prescribe for certain conditions.
Our nursing team covers both Davenal House and Stoke Prior Surgeries. The service provided includes: general treatment room duties, routine immunisations, health promotion, cervical smears, chronic disease management, family planning and travel health advice.

Kate Alger, female

Care home nurse practitioner and Nurse Manager
Kate has been employed to help manage our nursing home patients. She carries out regular visits to patients in nursing homes with acute and chronic long term conditions.
Charlie Bartle, female
Advance nurse practitioner
Charlie is able to deal with a variety of minor ailments, e.g. tonsillitis, ear infections and rashes etc, she is able to issue prescriptions if required. She runs her own clinic in parallel with the our doctors and carries out telephone appointments Monday to Thursday.
Healthcare assistants
Healthcare assistants support practice nurses with their daily work and carry out tasks such as phlebotomy (drawing blood), blood pressure measurement and new patient checks. They may act as a chaperone when a patient or doctor requests one.
They have regular bookable appointments at Davenal House and some appointments at Stoke Prior.
